As one of two at the Swedish consultancy Placebrander AB, Anna Österlund is a project manager passionate about place branding, especially when it comes to looking a bit into the future. Examples from all around the world, mixed with her own experiences, create a credible and humble keynote. The company’s newly developed trend game will get the participants to think and generate ideas in completely new ways!
Anna Österlund’s background is from both Linköping University and Mid Sweden University, where she studied business development, focused on places and tourism. After graduation, she ran her own company, working especially with business development for companies such as Vätternrundan, Lantbrukarnas riksförbund, and Habo municipality.
As part of Placebrander AB, Anna has spoken and presented at events such as the political week at Almedalen, Science Park Mjärdevi, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Visitas destination days, Göta kanal and many more.

Tourism today is so much more than just the traditional tourist agencies brochures. Tourism is said to be the new basic business of Sweden and in this talk I present what tourism actually is and why it is growing so rapidly. I also talk about trends that influence our travel and how to work with tourism development at your place.
